Wool Animals

Somewhere in Khabarovsk, Russia, there lives a passionate felted wool artist that makes the cutest woodland animals that seem like they came out of a Disney movie. Her name is Yulia Derevschikova, and she's been doing this since 2005.  Over the years, she has created over a hundred of these adorable little critters, and she doesn't plan to stop any time soon.

The artist uses a felted wool technique, which is not to be confused with wool felt which is totally-different-yet-very-similar technique. To put it briefly, the first one involves threading and weaving, while the latter doesn’t. The felted wool technique adds extra puffiness to the wool, and it translates into a soft and fluffy texture, which fits so well when making these cute little fluffballs. The artist has a knack for creating forest creatures out of this felted wool, as well as more exotic types.
