Obituary: Arthur McClure Moler

Arthur McClure Moler, friend, father, and grandfather, was released from his pain on Friday,-November 9, 2001. Art affected everyone he came in contact with. He was a brilliant man.

Born Sept 15, 1941 in Salt Lake City, UT to Murray and Eleanor Moler. He married May Ellen Wheat Sept 25, 1962. They divorced in 1994. Art lived various places in his lifetime. He graduated from high school in Omaha, NE. He attended college in California and graduated from the University of Utah with a BS Degree in Chemistry and a minor in Math. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He also lived for a short time in Kittanning, PA.

 

Due to difficulties beyond his control, Art retired from Kennecott Copper. He developed a fascination and love for computers. For the last several years, Art has helped many by teaching computers at the Horizonte Center in Salt Lake City. He has also volunteered at the Alliance House in Salt Lake City, tutoring and helping others learn how to use a computer. He loved taking his grandchildren to the zoo, sight-seeing and traveling. An active member of the Holladay United Church of Christ, he has served faithfully in many capacities there, one of which was maintaining the HUCC web-site. He loved space and looking at the stars. Driving the Alpine Loop each fall was one of his favorite traditions. He enjoyed watching the changing of the seasons.

He is survived by his beloved Sandi Kopp, Salt Lake City; children, James Arthur Moler, Provo, Cindi and Andrew (Dee) Glad, Sandy; four wonderful grandchildren, Steven, Kelly, Angela, Tiffany; brothers and sisters, Cleve and Patsy Moler, Betsy Moler-Williams and Tom Williams, Martha Moler; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Tues. Nov 13, 2001, Holladay

United Church of Christ, 2631 E. Murray-Holladay Rd. In keeping with Dad's wishes, there will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Holladay United Church of Christ in Art's name.
